The CONCΣPT™ ... Description

Monitor

The CONCΣPT™ desk is designed to use a 15”, 17” or 19” flat screen monitor. These are available as standard TFT monitors or can be ordered with a hardened glass front.

Monitor Arm & Mounting

The monitor arm enables the user to easily adjust the vertical height and horizontal location of the monitor to achieve an ergonomically comfortable position.

Additionally, when an instructor wants the entire class to focus on a classroom whiteboard, the student can simply swing the monitor to the side of the desk providing for a clear view to the front of the room.

Desktop

The desktop is a clear and continuous surface whether or not IT is in use.

The desktop remains closed (and locked) during normal use of the PC, removing the possibility that a user can accidentally damage the PC or tamper with any of its connections.

For purposes of maintenance or upgrade, however, the PC is easily accessible by authorised personnel. An administrator can unlock and raise the desktop, which hinges toward the back side of the desk, to gain access to the PC.

Keyboard and Mouse Storage

When not in use, the keyboard and mouse can be stored away under the desktop, thereby providing a clear desktop for use in the non-IT mode.

Optical Drive (optional)

An optional optical drive can be located within the centre section of the desk, accessible to users from the front of the desk. The optical drive is available as:

• CD
• DVD
• DVD / CD-RW
• DVD - RW

Computer

The computer case is specially designed to be housed in the locked desktop compartment. The unique design minimises tampering, increases security and enhances appearance. The computer can be accessed by an IT Administrator by a separate key for service or upgrade.

Control Panel

The control panel is located on the front of the desk. It contains:

• The PC power switch
• The key lock to disengage the PC power
• Two USB ports
• The audio sockets (microphone and headset)

Additionally, there is an optional wireless (fob) system which: (a) enables a teacher to remotely disable the PC power switch for an entire room of Adeptias desks and (b) enables an IT Administrator to remotely turn off an entire room of computers.

Desk Height Adjustment

The height of the desk can be specified at time of order and can be adjusted by 20mm using the adjustable leg fittings.
