Clear Desktop

• The ANSWΣR™ TΣ (Teacher's Edition) desk has a clear desktop in both the standard and IT modes.
• No bulky desktop computer, fixed position monitor or embedded keyboard to interfere with the user's work.
• No holes or gaps in the desktop surface.
• The full desktop space is available to use for books or papers.

Integrated PC

• The computer is specially designed to be housed within the 60mm desktop space.
• The unique design minimises tampering, increases security from damage and theft and enhances appearance.
• Optional CD / DVD drives are accessed from front of the desktop.
• The PC is built using standard brand-name components to assure good performance and ease of upgrade.
• Each desk contains a CE certified power distribution system encompassing both surge protection and circuit breakers wired into the desk. A single mains lead into the desk (either single or double desk) provides the power for all aspects of the desk, including the PCs, monitors and desk controls.

Lock Away Monitor on Pivoting Arm

• The ANSWΣR™ TΣ desk is designed to use a flat screen TFT monitor which is mounted on a proprietary, retractable and pivoting monitor arm.
• In the non-IT format, the monitor is housed in the monitor compartment within either the right or left desk frame.
• The proprietary monitor mechanism is specially designed to enable the monitor and the monitor arm to move from inside the desk frame up to the surface of the desk.
• In the IT mode, the horizontal movement of the monitor arm is limited to the area over the desktop to prevent the monitor from accidentally being moved outside of the area of the desktop.
• The proprietary monitor arm provides for three dimensional movement of the monitor, supporting the flexible use of the desk and ergonomic considerations of the users.
• The monitor size can be 15", 17" or 19" and, in the 15" and 17" sizes, the monitor is available with a hardened glass front.
• The monitor mechanism and arm are connected with tamper-resistant fasteners preventing the removal of the monitor.

Digital Projector & Writing Pad

• The ANSWΣR™ TΣ desk is designed to use: (a) a digital projector which is mounted on a proprietary, retractable and pivoting arm and (b) a wireless writing pad.
• In the non-IT format, the projector is housed in the projector compartment within right desk frame.
• The proprietary projector mechanism is specially designed to enable the projector and the projector arm to move from inside the desk frame up to the surface of the desk.
• In the IT mode, the horizontal movement of the projector arm is limited to the area over the desktop to prevent the projector from accidentally being moved outside of the area of the desktop.
• The projector mechanism and arm are connected with tamper-resistant fasteners preventing the removal of the monitor from the desk
• When not in use, the writing pad can also be stored in the same compartment and set to charge using the internal power distribution system.

Access Control

• A Control Panel is located on the front of the desk which includes an access button to open the desk, LEDs to indicate the status of the desk and the PC, two USB ports and two audio sockets.
• Access to the desk is controlled by a separate key lock.
• There is an optional wireless (fob) access system which enables a teacher to remotely unlock The ANSWΣR™ TΣ desk. This control works separately from the button (located on the same fob control) which unlocks The ANSWΣR™ TΣ desks located in the room for students.
• This system also includes a master remote control (for use by IT Administrators) which overrides the standard fobs and can also remotely turn off all of the PCs in the room.

Security

• The computer is housed in the centre section of the desk and is not accessible to a user even when IT functionality is in use.
• The monitor, keyboard, mouse, digital projector and wireless writing pad are housed in a separate compartments and, when not in use, are locked away, out of sight.
• The computer can be accessed by an IT Administrator by a separate key for service or upgrade.
• Tamper-resistant fasteners are used for all accessible fasteners including the attachment of the monitor to the monitor arm

Service & Warranty

• To provide for security and prevent tampering and/or accidental damage, the computer is locked within the desktop.
• For service or upgrade, the top of the desk hinges open to provide access to the computer(s), optical drives and desk power and control system.
• Should a computer require service, the computer can be easily swapped for a replacement in minutes, without the need for a service person to disrupt the activity of the entire room.
• For any customer ordering a full room of Adeptias desks, a free, standby computer is provided at no cost to the customer, enabling the customer to replace any computer immediately.
• The faulty computer can then be packaged in the same box that stored the stand-by computer and Adeptias will arrange for pick-up, repair and return of the spare unit.
• One year warranty is standard on the PC, with an option to upgrade to a three years warranty for the PC. Most monitors come with a three year warranty provided by the manufacturer. Most projectors come with a one year warranty.

• The ANSWΣR™ TΣ and The ANSWΣR™ desks can be connected together to form many different room configurations.
