Clear Desktop

• The ANSWΣR™ desk has a clear desktop in both the standard and IT modes.
• No bulky desktop computer, fixed position monitor or embedded keyboard.
• No holes or gaps in the desk surface.
• The full desk space is available for use with books and papers.

Integrated PC

• The computer case is specially designed to be housed within the 60 mm desktop space.
• Optional CD / DVD drives are access from front of the desktop.
• The proprietary design allows for inclusion of most standard PCI cards.
• The PC is built using industry standard brand-name components to assure performance and ease of upgrade.
• Unique design minimises tampering, increases security from damage and theft and enhances appearance.

Lock Away Monitor on Pivoting Arm

• The ANSWΣR™ desk is designed to use a flat screen monitor.
• In the non-IT format, the monitor is concealed in the monitor compartment within either the right or left desk frame.
• The proprietary monitor mechanism is specially designed to enable the monitor and the monitor arm to move from inside the desk frame up to the surface of the desk.
• In the IT mode, the horizontal movement of the monitor arm is limited to the area over the desktop to prevent the monitor from accidentally being moved outside of the area of the desktop.
• The proprietary monitor arm provides for three dimensional movement of the monitor, supporting the flexible use of the desk and ergonomic considerations of the users.
• The monitor size can be 15", 17" or 19" and, in the 15" and 17" sizes, the monitor is available with a hardened glass front.

Service & Warranty

• To provide for security and prevent tampering and/or accidental damage, the computer is locked within the desktop.
• For service or upgrade, the top of the desk hinges open to provide access to the computer(s), optical drives and desk power and control system.
• Should a computer require service, the computer can be easily swapped for a replacement in minutes, without the need for a service person to disrupt the activity of the entire room.
• For any customer ordering a full room of Adeptias desks, a free, standby computer is provided at no cost to the customer, enabling the customer to replace any computer immediately.
• The faulty computer can then be packaged in the same box that stored the stand-by computer and Adeptias will arrange for pick-up, repair and return of the spare unit.
• One year warranty is standard on the PC, with an option to upgrade to a three years warranty for the PC. Most monitors come with a three year warranty provided by the manufacturer.

Access Control

• A Control Panel is located on the front of the desk.
• It includes an access button to open the desk, LEDs to indicate the status of the desk and the PC, two USB ports and two audio sockets.
• Access to the desk is controlled by a separate key lock.
• There is an optional wireless remote access system which enables teachers / office managers to unlock an entire room of desks using a fob.
• This system also includes an IT Administrator override control which can remotely lock the desks as well as turn off all of the PCs.

Security

• The computer is housed in the centre section of the desk and is not accessible to a user even when IT functionality is in use.
• The monitor, keyboard and mouse are housed in a separate compartment and when not in use, are locked away, out of sight.
• The computer can be accessed by an IT Administrator for service or upgrade by use of a separate key.
• Tamper-resistant fasteners are used for all accessible fasteners including the attachment of the monitor to the monitor arm.

Desk Formats

• The ANSWΣR™ desk is available as a single or double desk.
• For the single desk, the monitor can be located on either the left-hand or right-hand side of the desk.
• For the double desk, two computers are housed in the centre section and monitors are located on both sides.

Flexible Room Configuration

• The ANSWΣR™ desks can be connected together to form many different room configurations.
• Alternative configurations include:
  • Library
  • 'U' Shape
  • Rows

Option Σditions™

• The ANSWΣR™ desk is available in a variety of standard colours and sizes.
• Standard sizes are:
  • Depth: 650mm, 700mm, 750mm and 800mm.
  • Width (single): 850mm, 900mm, 1000mm, 1200mm & 1400mm.
  • Width (double): 1600mm, 1700mm, 1800mm & 2000mm.
  • Height: specified at time of order
• Standard desktops are:
  • Polymer
  • Laminates
  • Wood veneer
• Standard colours are:
  • Metal frame: black, graphite and silver
  • Wood top: wood grains or solid colours
• Custom sizes and colours can be specified for full room configurations.
• Select name-brand laptops, desktop PCs and thin clients can be integrated into The ANSWΣR™ desk under the Option Editions format.
