Clear Desktop

• The CONCΣPT™ desk has a clear desktop in both the standard and IT modes.
• No bulky desktop computer, fixed position monitor or embedded keyboard to interfere with the user’s work or line of sight.
• No holes or gaps in the desktop surface.
• The full desktop space is available for books or papers.

Integrated PC

• The computer case is specially designed to be housed within the 60mm desktop space.
• The unique design minimises tampering, increases security from damage and theft and enhances appearance
• Optional CD / DVD drives are accessed from the front of the desktop.
• The PC is built using industry standard brand-name components to assure performance and ease of upgrade.
• Each desk contains a CE certified power distribution system encompassing both surge protection and circuit breakers wired into the desk. A single mains lead into the desk (either single or double desk) provides the power for all aspects of the desk, including the PCs, monitors and desk controls.

Flat Screen Monitor Mounted on Pivoting Arm

• The CONCΣPT™ desk is designed to use a flat screen TFT monitor mounted on a proprietary pivoting arm.
• The proprietary monitor arm provides for three dimensional movement of the monitor, supporting the flexible use of the desk and ergonomic considerations of the users.
• The horizontal movement of the arm is limited to the area over the desktop to prevent the monitor from accidentally being moved outside of the area of the desktop.
• When IT is not required, the monitor can be positioned to the side of the desk and the keyboard and mouse can be stored under the desk, providing for a clear desktop.
• The TFT monitor can be 15”, 17”, 19” or 21” and is available in standard screen or hardened glass front.
• The monitor mechanism and arm are connected with tamper-resistant fasteners preventing the removal of the monitor.

Access Control

• A Control Panel is located on the front of the desk which includes an access button to turn the PC on/off, a key lock which controls the PC power button, LEDs to indicate the status of the desk and the PC, two USB ports and two audio sockets.
• The PC power switch can be disabled by use of the key lock and/or by an optional wireless (fob) system which enables a teacher to remotely disable the PC power switch for an entire room of Adeptias desks.
• This system also includes a master remote control (for use by IT Administrators) which overrides the standard fobs and can also remotely turn off all of the PCs in the room.

Security

• The computer is locked in the centre section of the desk and is not accessible to the user even when IT functionality is in use.
• The computer can be accessed by an IT Administrator for service or upgrade by use of a separate key.
• When not in use, the keyboard and mouse can be removed from the desktop surface and stored in separate compartments.
• Tamper-resistant fasteners are used for all accessible fasteners including the attachment of the monitor to the monitor arm.

Service and Warranty

• To provide for security and prevent tampering and/or accidental damage, the computer is locked within the desktop.
• For service or upgrade, the top of the desk hinges open to provide access to the computer(s), optical drives and desk power and control system.
• Should a computer require service, the computer can be easily swapped for a replacement in minutes, without the need for a service person to disrupt the activity of the entire room.
• For any customer ordering a full room of Adeptias desks, a free, standby computer is provided at no cost to the customer, enabling the customer to replace any computer immediately.
• The faulty computer can then be packaged in the same box that stored the stand-by computer and Adeptias will arrange for pick-up, repair and return of the spare unit.
• One year warranty is standard on the PC, with an option to upgrade to a three year warranty for the PC. Most monitors come with a three year manufacturer’s warranty.

Desk Formats

• The CONCΣPT™ desk is available as a single or double desk.
• For the single desk, the monitor can be located on pivoting arms on either the left-hand or right-hand side of the desk.
• For the double desk, two computers are housed in the centre section and two monitors are each mounted on pivoting arms at each side of the desk.

Flexible Room Configuration

• The CONCΣPT™ desks can be connected together to form many different room configurations.
• Alternative configurations include:

  • Rows

Option Σditions™

• The CONCΣPT™ desk is available in a variety of standard colours and sizes.
• Standard sizes are:
  • Depth: 500mm, 600mm, 700mm and 800mm.
  • Width (single): 700mm, 800mm, 1000mm, 1200mm & 1400mm.
  • Width (double): 1400mm, 1600mm, 1800mm & 2000mm.
  • Height: specified at time of order
• Standard desktops are:
  • Polymer
  • Laminates
  • Wood veneer
• Standard colours are:
  • Metal frame: black, graphite and silver
  • Wood top: wood grains or solid colours
• Custom sizes and colours can be specified for full room configurations.
• Select name-brand laptops, desktop PCs and thin clients can be integrated into the CONCΣPT™ desk under the Option Σditions™ format.
